Privacy Policy
At QR Guy, we respect your right to privacy and security. That's why we engineered this tool to operate on a zero-data retention model. Everything you generate or scan stays entirely on your own device.
1. Client-Side Execution
Unlike traditional web tools, QR Guy executes all generation algorithms, styling renders, and barcode decoding natively in your browser sandbox.
- Your input content (URLs, numbers, Wi-Fi parameters, vCard contacts) is converted to a QR layout using local client-side Javascript.
- No database or remote service log tracks the parameters you paste or input.
- Once the workspace is loaded, you can disconnect your internet and continue generating and styling codes.
2. Processing of Custom Logos & Images
If you upload a custom logo to embed in your QR design, the image is read by the web browser using the HTML5 FileReader API and converted into a local Base64 Data URL. The file is never sent to any server, storage system, or external API.
3. Scanner & Camera Permissions
When utilizing the QR and Barcode Scanner tab, the web app requests access to your camera. The video feed is analyzed frame-by-frame entirely inside local memory using canvas render elements.
- No camera frames, image pixels, or decoded strings are sent to third parties.
- The camera permission can be revoked instantly at any time in your browser settings.
- You can also scan QR codes by uploading image files, which are processed entirely locally.
4. Cookies and Analytics
To monitor our application's performance and analyze website traffic, we utilize Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses "cookies"—which are small text files placed on your device—to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior information in an anonymous form.
Additionally, if Google AdSense is active on this site, third-party vendors (including Google) use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
We also use the browser's localStorage cache to enhance your local workflow. This allows QR Guy to remember:
- Your visual theme preference (Light or Dark mode).
- The latest design configurations you styled (colors, shapes, corner styling, error correction levels) so you don't have to rebuild them on your next visit.
- The local scan history log, which you can clear manually at any time with a single click.
All localStorage keys remain stored inside your browser client and can be wiped instantly by clearing your browser cache.
5. Updates to This Policy
Because we do not store emails or profile data, we cannot notify users of policy updates. Any changes will be posted directly to this URL with an updated timestamp.
